Here is a link to the market research databases that you can search.  We have access to *some* full-text from these databases.

Regarding your specific topic, I did a search for merger and pharmaceutical in the Marketresearch.com Academic database and the first report that came up "Pharmaceutical Products of the Future: 50-Company Pipeline Analysis to 2015" by Kalorama (July 2010) has a section on mergers and acquisitions (pages 31-34). You can download this report directly after agreeing to the terms and conditions. If you are off campus, you will need to provide your Angel credentials to get logged in.

There are several mentions of mergers and acquisitions in this report as well from the same database: "Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Post-Launch : Contract Manufacturing, Biomanufacturing and Sales, 3rd Edition" also by Kalorama (Jan. 2009). You can also download this report directly.

In the BCC Market Research database, the description for the "World Pharmaceutical Markets" report by BCC Research (March 2004) mentions mergers & acquisitions trends. If this report is of interest, contact us at http://libanswers.uah.edu and someone from the Reference Desk will download this report for you. I realize it's older, but it may still have some good information. You can create a free account with this database and it will allow you to see the full abstract and table of contents to get a better idea if this report will be helpful.

There's a very brief mention of consolidation under the Trends & Opportunities section of the "Pharmaceutical Manufacturing" industry profile (Oct. 2011) in the First Research Industry database.

The Datamonitor database also has a "Pharmaceuticals Industry Profile: United States" from Dec. 2010 and here is the permalink: http://search.ebscohost.com.elib.uah.edu/login.aspx?direct=true&db=buh&AN=58767921&site=ehost-live

Another possibility is to search for articles using the search terms "mergers and acquisitions" and "pharmaceutical industry" in the business news databases like ABI Inform and Business Source Premier.
