I'm looking for an article from the "Psychology Today" journal from May/June 2006. How do I find it?
The title of the article is "A Case for Double-Edged Optimism."

The following are steps that can be generalized, somewhat, to find other articles when you know the journal title and the date. Change the specifics as needed.
- Start out with our homepage: http://lib.uah.edu.
- In the middle of the page, there is a section that says [Books & Ebooks] [Journals] [Online Databases], etc. Move your mouse over [Journals] and then click on "Find a Journal Title".
- Enter the name Psychology Today as your search term. Click Search.
- You will be given a list of databases that have the journal, pick from the list. For instance, pick Academic Search Premier.
- You will have a list of dates in a range, you need May/June 2006 so first click the year, and then that particular issue.
- Finally, move through the articles until you find the one you need. This will take a few pages.
As I mentioned above, this is a general set of steps and can be adapted to find a wide variety of articles when the journal title and date is known. If the date isn't known, a lot of the databases, after you click on them after the title search, have a "Search Within This Publication" option. You can enter the article title then (most recommended) and search just for that article in that journal.
